TERMS OF SERVICE
This website is operated by Jan Hajek Ceramics. By visiting my site and/or buying something from me, you agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions and any additional terms and conditions and policies I make reference to or link to. These terms apply to all users of the site, please read them carefully before accessing or using my website. If you do not agree to all the terms and conditions of this agreement, then you may not use the website.
COVID-19
Due to the current global pandemic with COVID-19, orders might take longer than expected to reach their destinations, this is very much out of my control so please keep an especially keen eye on your order during these times. I’ve also decided to limit shipping to the UK and EU for the time being as there are surcharges on long haul deliveries, such as to the US, Canada, and Australia, to name a few. The shipping costs are two to three times more expensive than they usually and I don’t feel comfortable charging such high amounts. This will hopefully change soon but if you have any suggestions, please reach out to me and let me know.
SHIPPING
I aim to dispatch your order within 3 working days from the date of order. Sometimes due to events/timings/number of orders, it may take a few more days before parcels are shipped out in which case I would let you know immediately. Once the parcel is shipped, I will send you a confirmation and tracking number. Please note, international orders may be subject to import duties and/or tax, in such cases, these taxes are the responsibility of the buyer. Please make sure you provide the correct postal address at the time of order, if the items are returned to me I will have to charge for re-postage.
When an item is sent from my studio to be shipped abroad, it is in the jurisdiction of the receiving country’s postage service and customs. If for whatever reason something goes missing, please get in touch with myself and the postage companies. I’ll always try my best to help the situation but occasionally things can go astray, in which case please get in touch and we can arrange a refund or for another order to be sent out.
The free of charge local pick-up is at the following address: St Margaret’s House, 151 London Road, Edinburgh, EH7 6AE. On completion of your order, you will receive a confirmation with my contact number to arrange the date and time of the pick-up.
REFUNDS & EXCHANGES
I do my best to accurately depict and describe the items in my shop and I ask that you keep in mind that all items are made by hand, are unique, and by nature of their making and firing have slight imperfections and variations.
However, if you are unsatisfied with it or you have just changed your mind you must let me know immediately as I do not accept unauthorized returns under any circumstances. The work must be returned in its original condition (unused and unmarked) and sent to me within 14 days of receipt, for me to arrange a refund. Please ensure you get proof of postage as I cannot accept liability for loss of returns in the post. Please note I am unable to refund postage costs on returns.
If you wish to return the piece to me, please contact me first so that I can advise you about repacking the work.
In the unlikely event that the goods are damaged during postage to you, please let me know as soon as they arrive. Ideally, if the box looks damaged please take photographs as you unwrap the work. If you do not report this immediately then I will not accept any responsibility for the damage and am not obliged to reimburse you.
Any refunds due will be made within 14 days of the work being returned to me.
CARING FOR POTS
Please be careful with your pots, wash by hand if possible, and refrain from using any strongly staining foods/liquids with them. It helps to wash them quickly after use and if you can, don’t leave liquid in them overnight or for long periods of time. For this same reason I wouldn’t recommend using a microwave or dishwasher, I always hand wash a majority of my handmade ceramics as it simply isn’t as durable as factory-made wares. To reiterate, they can go in the dishwasher or microwave but it’s best if they aren’t. Washing handmade pots by hand is always the best option.
OUR PRODUCTS & SERVICE
Some pieces may appear differently from that picture if there’s a quantity option available on that specific item. All of my pots are handmade and therefore subtle differences are expected from item to item. On pots listed without a quantity option, it should appear as pictured.
My Products are sold subject to their product descriptions. I take care that these are as accurate as possible but occasionally they may contain inaccuracies, omissions, or typographical errors. Likewise, these may affect promotions, offers, product shipping charges, transit times, and availability. As such all of the information on this website, including product descriptions, may not always be accurate when you place an order. In such cases, I will try and contact you to resolve the issue but I reserve the right to correct any errors, inaccuracies, or omissions; change or update information; withdraw the produce from the sale, or cancel orders without prior notice. I am not responsible if information made available on this site is not accurate, complete, or current. From time to time I may change the design and specification of my products, and product descriptions and prices are subject to change without notice. I may also withdraw products from sale without notice. I try and deliver the best service I can but occasionally I may need to take the site offline for maintenance or updates.
REFUSAL OF TRANSACTION
I reserve the right to refuse any order or refuse service to anyone, for any reason at any time. If I need to make a change to or cancel an order, I will attempt to contact you with the information you have provided. In using my site, you agree to provide current, complete, and accurate billing and shipping information for all purchases made at my store and that your use of, or inability to use, the service is at your sole risk.

I am not responsible for their content or liable for any harm or damages related to the purchase or use of anything you may buy from them. I am also not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites and encourage you to read their privacy statements.
PRIVACY POLICY
Your submission of personal information through the store is governed by my Privacy Policy. When you purchase something from my store, as part of the buying and selling process, I collect the personal information you give us such as your name, address, and email address. When you provide me with personal information to complete a transaction, verify your credit card, place an order, arrange for a delivery or return a purchase, I infer that you consent to our collecting it and using it for that specific reason only. I may disclose your personal information if I am required by law to do so or if you violate my Terms of Service.

We want to inform you that whenever you visit our Service, we collect information that your browser sends to us that is called Log Data. This Log Data may include information such as your computer’s Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, browser version, pages of our Service that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, and other statistics.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, we advise you to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. These changes are effective immediately after they are posted on this page.
PAYMENT
All payments on my site are processed by Stripe.

I take all reasonable steps to protect your personal details. However, I cannot guarantee the security of any data you disclose on-line. You accept the inherent security risks of providing information and dealing on-line over the Internet and will not hold me responsible for any breach of security unless this is due to my negligence or wilful default.

My web site uses cookies to improve your experience of the site. A cookie is a small file that is downloaded onto your computer when you visit a website. It allows me to recognize and tailor my site to you and it won’t harm your computer.
